All this !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! talk has got me thinking, what was your dream car growing up?
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
I'm one of the younger members on Oppo, turning 18 on the 30th of this month, growing up the Lotus Elise was my dream car. I don't know why, maybe it was just the funky way it looked, or driving the first gen Elise in Gran Turismo 3 (My uncle let me have any two cars on his save file, I chose a teal Elise and a Legacy Wagon), it just always appealed to me. When I was 10 I got to sit in one for the first time at the Toronto Auto show, it was like a dream come true for me.
My family members and old friends always remind me how much I loved that car. I would always say it was my favourite car, and I had multiple models and toys based off it, even a Lotus F1 shirt, though nobody in my family watches F1.
What was your dream car as a child, Oppo?

My first car-toy was a Pink Countach, exactly like that, but metallic pink. I still have it somewhere...

One of these, this color, used to park across from my house. I loved it. only later did I learn that it had a sewing machine for an engine.

That probably would have been in my top 5 childhood cars, I had diecast model based off a blue on with a white stripe.

What's the cutoff year? Because I don want to grow up.
Obligatory Countach for millenials of course.
And pretty much any Corvette.

Corvette. I literally do not remember any other car having meaning to me.
Although in later years I really liked the Shelby Cobra.

My uncle has been obsessed with Corvettes, and hes like an older brother to me, he had posters, diecast models, shirts, computer wallpapers, stickers etc. all Corvette. Mainly C5 and c6 because those where the main corvettes during the bulk my childhood.

My uncle, who was like my older brother had an unhealthy obsession with Corvettes. Still does. I lived with him so almost every time I went in his room I get blasted with corvette posters, stickers, computer wallpapers, shirts, etc.

I was born in 1982 and my car fandom began early. So, my childhood favorite cars were:
Ferrari Testarossa - because of the strakes and I had a little pull-back toy car of one.
Toyota Supra Mk2 - because my dad bought one new in '85 and as a tiny little jalop I'd make him pop the hood when he came home from work and grill him with questions: "Where's the spark plugs of it? Where's the air filter of it? Where's the ___ of it?" I would ride in the back seat when he rolled the windows down, and I'd do what I called eating air. Which was basically just chomping on the wind in my face. I was four, give me a break.
Porsche 928 - because my dad almost bought one from a coworker, and the guy let him try it over a weekend, and something about the curved rear quarter windows just did it for me.
BMW E32 750iL - because it had a phone.
Ferrari F40 - because it was the first production car that could do 200 mph.
The little kid version of me had some pretty kickass taste in cars.

I had a dream garage.
I'd wanted a blue 58 Corvette since that was my favorite model car. I'd also wanted a Beetle because I loved Herbie. I played need for speed and was convinced that Dodge Viper was the most bad-ass machine ever invented and that I needed McLaren F1 LM since it was the fastest car in the world. I also wanted a blue 442 or Cutlass like my dad had.

100% it was the Viper RT/10 it was my car of choice in every Gran Turismo and I had all sorts of posters of it in my room. For reference purposes I was 9 when it came out and at the time it was to most powerful production american car you could buy with a whopping 400hp.
I still love it to this day even tho I know how not that great of a car it really is. but just look at it! it's a thing of beauty.

My Uncle used to work in a shop that specialized in the exotics, and he gave me this poster when I started to show promise in taking up the addiction that haunts every man on both sides of my family. Ever since, this was my all time dream above all dream cars. I still have this poster, twenty years later. I have had four main (more) "achievable" dream cars otherwise: '69 Camaro in light blue; One of R34/Evo/STi (own the latter as of this year!); Lotus Exige; and Porsche 911 restomod. But those eb and flow, and some of them disappointed me when I finally met them. Not like the F40: My rock.

That game... what a gateway. If it weren't for the poster I mentioned earlier, It would have been the Mclaren LM or F50 because of that game.

Porsche Boxster. I knew it wasn't as powerful or as sporty as the 911 or as exotic as a lamborghini or ferrari, but it seemed very attainable, and I like my dreams to be attainable.
Plus I remember seeing one drive by once and my mom saying how selfish it was for the dude driving it to be driving a two seater. And being an asshole, the idea of being selfish in my car choice just really appealed to me.

All time dream car would have to be the F1 LM
My earliest dream car was probably a 911, any 911 as long as it had a whale tail
The Ferrari 550 was going to be my daily once I became CEO of Ferrari
The delorean was just all around awesome
Lastly, the Ferrari F50 was the latest and greatest Ferrari supercar when I was growing up and really getting into cars

Just like someone below stated, NFS Hot Pursuit has alot to answer for. Damn thing is basically one of the best entries to a great world. Every car in that game was a childhood memory, but the F335 is still something I love. Later on when it came to be I also found myself outright attached to the old Ford GT.

Yes sir, the RT/10 is my favorite American car. I don't care how "crappy" it is; I love that it's raw, hard to drive, not comfortable, and it tries to kill you every time. Plus, as you said, just look at it! Gorgeous.

Born in '84, I quickly became obsessed with cars as soon as I started playing with little Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars.
I was always (and still am) obsessed with exotics, and being born in the mid-'80's and growing up through the '90's, the top two cars I lusted over every waking second of my youth were:
From the Acura NSX all the way up to the greatest of all time, THE McLaren F1, exotics were my lifesource while growing up. But the Countach and the Diablo will always be the two cars that take me back to my childhood, that fill me with nostalgia and happiness when I think of them, see them, hear about them, etc.
They will always be the cars that make me pause, smile, and give a respectful nod to for being such a big part of my youth. They are the two cars that meant the most to me then, and still mean the most to me now.
(Ahh geez, who's cutting onions around here?!)

My favorite Ferrari. Between its looks and the glorious music made by that 5v engine, it's all been downhill at Ferrari for me since. Give me an F355 Berlinetta (with a real manual, of course) over anything they've made in the past 14 years, please.
